Archiving on iSeries (AS/400) with P-Backup

The backup software which is integrated in iSeries (AS/400) does its job reliable. Therefore the archiving of all libraries blocks the operative business on big systems, because it takes up a lot of time with saving. Unfortunately IBM hasn't provided some alternative preferences for the user.

An alternative and approved archiving solution makes up our software P-Backup:

With P-Backup you can determine for selected libraries the sequence of backup, the date of backup as well as the location of backup. For this reason it improves the archiving solution of IBM on critical points!

P-Backup: Functions

• Limitation of backup: Newly saved libraries doesn't become integrated automaticly into the backup sequence. The list of libraries might be readjusted at any time for appending new libraries for the backup sequences if applicable.
• Range of backup: You define the range of backup per library for daily, weekly and monthly.
• Location of backup: Differing from the default you might define for every library an other location of backup.
• Order of backup: By default the order of archiving libraries goes alphabetical. You might systematicly control the order by giving different priorities between 0 and 9999 to each library.
